Adding an Affiliate Network Entity

An affiliate network enables advertisers to get access to online offers through their own affiliate programs. Adding the affiliate network is an optional step in the process of setting up Voluum campaigns, however, this functionality enables you to group offers by their particular source. This is useful for organizing offers that are proprietary offers.

To add the custom affiliate network entity in Voluum, follow the steps:

1. Sign in to Voluum.

2. Go to Affiliate networks. The Affiliate networks view will show up.

3. Click the New affiliate network button. The New affiliate network form will show up.

5. Provide a unique name of the entity in the Affiliate network name field.

Voluum Tip: The affiliate network's name needs to be unique. Moreover, if required, y

ou can always modify the name once it is provided.

6. You might want to turn on the toggle to activate the following settings:

6a. Append click ID to offer URLs: If you want to turn on this option, you need to keep in mind that it has impact on the offer's URL. All offers created and grouped with the related affiliate network have Voluum’s click ID automatically passed in the offer’s URL and appended at the end of it.

Voluum Note: When the Append click ID to offer URLs setting is turned on, the {clickid} macro is not visible in the offer's URL itself. Instead it will be passed dynamically by Voluum when a visitor (click) is redirected to the offer.

6b. Accept duplicate postbacksSetting up the Accept duplicate postbacks option will override the default setting and, as a result, postback URLs with the same {clickid} and empty txid will not be discarded as a duplicate.

Voluum Note

By default, Voluum will not accept a duplicate postback request (conversion) if another postback request with the same click ID value was previously registered without a unique transaction ID. This avoids registering duplicate postback requests as unique conversions and therefore skewing your reporting.

When you activate the Accept duplicate postbacks setting, you change the default settings and allow to accept registration of the duplicate postback requests.

6c. Only accept postbacks from white-listed IPs: If you want to whitelist a selection of IPs for inbound postback requests, turn on this option. To add a list of IPs, enter a single IP per line.

Before setting up offers and campaigns in Voluum, it is highly recommended to find out more about the affiliate network's settings and how they might impact your tracking parameters.

    • I've noticed that a string is being added to my offer's link and I wonder what it is
When you turned on the Append click ID to offer URLs option, the {clickid} macro is automatically added to the offer's URL.
